URL Parser Documentation

Use the free URL Parser →

Break down a URL into protocol, host, path, query parameters, hash, and other useful components.

What does it do?

Break down a URL into protocol, host, path, query parameters, hash, and other useful components.

How does it work?

SiteIndex splits a URL into its protocol, host, path, and hash, lists every query parameter as an editable row, and rebuilds the URL as values change.

When to use it
  • Inspect or edit every query parameter in a long tracking or API URL.
  • Copy a URL component before using it in code.
  • Rebuild a query string without visiting the destination.
Inputs and outputs
Input
Text, files, or values entered in the browser, depending on the tool.
Output
A result shown in the browser that can be reviewed or copied where supported.
Limitations
  • This uses the browser URL parser, not a reachability or safety check.
  • Credentials in a URL are displayed. Use synthetic URLs rather than passwords or signed private links.
Privacy and data handling

Inputs for this browser-side tool are processed locally and are not sent to SiteIndex. Normal page analytics may still be collected as described in the Privacy Policy. Read the Privacy Policy.

How to use it

  1. Paste an absolute URL including its scheme.
  2. Read and copy protocol, hostname, path, query, fragment, and credential fields.
  3. Edit, add, or remove query parameters and use the rebuilt URL in the input field.
