Frequently asked questions
Can Roman numerals represent zero here?
No. This tool supports the conventional positive range 1 to 3999, without zero, negatives, fractions, or overlines.
Why is IIII rejected?
The tool accepts canonical subtractive notation, so four is IV. Historical and clock-face variants are outside its scope.
Are lowercase Roman numerals accepted?
Yes. Input is trimmed and normalized to uppercase before validation.
