Headers Checker Documentation

Use the free Headers Checker →

Review HTTP response headers for caching, content type, security, and debugging information.

What does it do?

Review HTTP response headers for caching, content type, security, and debugging information.

How does it work?

SiteIndex groups the returned response headers into Security, Caching, and Content sections with plain labels. The Advanced panel shows the complete raw header set for deeper debugging.

When to use it
  • Check whether key security headers (HSTS, CSP, X-Frame-Options) are present.
  • Review caching headers to understand how a page is cached.
  • Confirm content-type and server headers during debugging.
Inputs and outputs
Input
A public website, domain, or network value required by the check.
Output
A result shown in the browser that can be reviewed or copied where supported.
Limitations
  • Results depend on the input, browser, network, and external service involved.
  • This tool is informational and does not replace specialist diagnostics.
Privacy and data handling

The requested public target is sent to SiteIndex only as needed to perform the check. SiteIndex does not require an account or intentionally store the target as a report. See the Privacy Policy for analytics and retention details. Read the Privacy Policy.

How to use it

  1. Enter a public HTTP or HTTPS URL.
  2. Run the check and review the security, caching, and content sections.
  3. Open a missing or unexpected header to read its purpose and recommended fix.
  4. Re-check after changing the origin or CDN configuration.
