Step by step

1. Run Website Score for the public page.
2. Review response time, HTML size, and compression.
3. Run Internet Speed Test separately to understand the local connection.
4. Use Ping when latency to an endpoint is the specific question.

Technical details

• Website response time and internet download speed are different measurements. Neither alone describes real-user Core Web Vitals.

Common mistakes

• Calling a fast internet connection proof of a fast website.
• Testing only once during unusual server load.
• Ignoring caching, images, and client-side work.
