Calculate the exact difference between two dates and times.

How does it work?

SiteIndex calculates the exact difference between two dates. The Advanced panel can also add or subtract a number of days from a start date, optionally counting business days only.

When to use it
  • Find the exact duration between two events.
  • Calculate a deadline a set number of business days from today.
  • Plan a schedule by adding or subtracting days from a known date.
Inputs and outputs
Input
Text, files, or values entered in the browser, depending on the tool.
Output
A result shown in the browser that can be reviewed or copied where supported.
Limitations
  • Timezone-less dates use the device timezone; daylight-saving transitions can make calendar days differ from 24-hour periods.
  • Business days skip weekends only, not public holidays.

How to use it

  1. Enter start and end dates using the displayed date/time format.
  2. Select Calculate difference and review the calendar and elapsed-time components.
  3. Expand Add or subtract days for a separate offset from the start date; negative values subtract.
