Pace per kilometre (HH:MM:SS)
00:05:00
Pace per mile (HH:MM:SS)
00:08:02.803
Average speed
12 km/h

Average elapsed pace only. Includes any stops in the entered duration; does not adjust for elevation, splits, terrain, or moving time. Pace is shown as HH:MM:SS per kilometre or mile.

How to use it

  1. Enter a positive distance and choose kilometres or miles.
  2. Enter elapsed duration in HH:MM:SS format.
  3. Read per-kilometre pace, per-mile pace, and average speed.
What is Running Pace Calculator?

Calculate average elapsed pace per kilometre and mile plus speed from distance and duration.

How it works

Divide elapsed duration by distance in kilometres or miles, then calculate average kilometres per hour from the same values.

Common uses
  • Check average pace after a timed run.
  • Compare kilometre and mile pace for the same effort.
  • Understand the relationship between pace and speed.
Limitations
  • Results depend on the browser, network, input, and external service involved.
  • This tool is informational and does not replace specialist diagnostics or professional advice.
Frequently asked questions
How do I enter a 25-minute run?
Use 00:25:00. The input and pace outputs use hours, minutes, and seconds, not decimal minutes.
Does it remove stopped time?
No. It uses the entire elapsed duration you enter. Enter moving time explicitly if that is the comparison you intend.
Does it adjust for elevation or terrain?
No. It is an average pace calculation, not an effort, fitness, or race-prediction model.
